Tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely delivery of project inputs to intended beneficiaries and safe receipt at various stages of distribution, either personally or through FAO partners or ensure proper filling of the distribution documents.
  • Ensure the proper packing, documentation, and identification of goods before any supplies dispatch in done for onward transportation to the partners.
  • Ensure procedures as per government guidelines as followed in distribution of inputs and required approvals are obtained before such distribution.
  • Assist Logistics Associate for updating record of all the project materials received and dispatched of the FAO partners in the field including ensuring updated file of property transfer forms.
  • In coordination with other responsible officer, ensure communication of material movement details to relevant parties.
  • Provide logistic support and coordination of meetings, trainings, workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. at the national and sub-national levels; including collecting and preparing materials under the guidance of the technical officer at the field level.
  • Assist Logistics Associate in ensuring proper management of the office vehicles and the daily scheduling of movements and travels and also ensure the project vehicle is well serviced at all time and insurance renewals are obtained in good time and submit a report to the Logistics Associate every month.
  • Provide logistic support and coordination of meetings, trainings, workshops, seminars, conferences, etc. at the national and sub-national levels; including collecting and preparing materials under the guidance of the technical officer at the field level.
  • Act as focal point for inventory and update inventory reports of the project and submit a report to Logistics Associate every month.
  • Act as focal point of local procurement of field office.
  • Supervise project’s office assistant and security guards.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor within the assigned area of responsibility.

Minimum Requirements

  • Advance university degree in any related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the development and coordination of national programmes and project development.
  • Local candidates having experiences with the UN/international organizational will get preference.
  • Working knowledge of English
  • National of Bangladesh.

Technical/Functional Skills

  • Have understanding on programme monitoring and coordination, ideally with experience in responding to humanitarian emergencies;
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in office management, administration, and logistics preferably with UN agencies and/or INGOs. Fluency in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively use standard office software, such as MS office (Windows, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately and ability to maintain good working relationships with people from different nationality and cultural background.
