Functions / Key Results Expected

  • Coordinate, facilitate and implement the various meetings organized within the scope of the human resource development and training of new nuclear power plants, with a special focus on workforce planning.
  • Identify needs, plans and publication prospects of guides and reports aimed at assuring improved operation and safety of nuclear facilities through improvement in the effectiveness of human resource development systems and processes including specialist tools and techniques.
  • Monitor the needs, implementation, operating experience and current practices in nuclear facility human resource development in Member States, collecting and evaluating relevant data.
  • Advise on and support human resource development system improvement and management actions in Member States through NPES programme activities with involve, inter alia, the following: preparation of technical reports and other guidance, organising meetings/managing networks for exchange of experience and transfer of relevant knowledge to Member States.
  • Provide technical management and support of TC projects as Technical Officer. Develop action plans to achieve project milestones and objectives (including evaluation); organize and participate in seminars, workshops, training courses, expert missions, and meetings with Member State counterparts concerning project progress and implementation.
  • Operate and maintain a network and an Internet-based web page on SAT-based training and development management and implementation issues.
  • Coordinate efforts of the section in the area of advanced training, including e-learning, methods.

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Resources Development or Nuclear Engineering.
  • At least five years work experience in training and/or human resource development in the nuclear power industry.
  • Experience working in a national or international nuclear organization or institute is desirable.
  • Experience in establishing networks/communities of practice in the nuclear industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in advanced training technologies, including e-learning in the nuclear industry.
  • Experience in technical writing in English in order to produce and review documents related to human resource development and training in nuclear facilities.
  • Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
