Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Technical Research Scientist Immunoprofiling, are to:

  • Prepare assessment plan, a detailed study plan describing the experimental setup, rationale, and the timeline for delivery of preliminary data and final study report to project leaders;
  • Generate tools and develop in vitro methods that mimic the immune response expected to occur against the biotherapeutic in the patients;
  • Perform assays with expert-level competence in the use of flow cytometry, ELISpot, and Luminex;
  • Analyze and interpret results that supports recommendations, if any, provided to the project team;
  • Record assessments in compliance with Bella notebook policy and prepare e-submission-ready Pharm reports when needed;
  • Monitor innovations in the field of immunoprofiling and integrate new technologies that increase sensitivity, specificity, and efficiency;
  • Support collaborations and external partnerships related to immunogenicity research

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values.  More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Immunology, Biochemistry or related field;
  • Minimum of 6 year’s lab research experience after degree with at least 5 year’s specifically in the area of T cell immunology;
  • Must have successfully generated T cell lines from healthy donor as well as patient PBMC;
  • Experience with generating functional dendritic cells from primary monocytes;
  • Technical expertise in ELISpot, flow cytometry, and Luminex instruments;
  • Proven success in writing submission of research proposals such as research grants or IRB protocols;
  • Lead authorships in at least 10 peer-reviewed publications with some specifically on T cell immunology;
  • PBMC preparation from fresh whole blood;
  • Dendritic cell generation, phenotypic and functional characterization of DC;
  • T cell line generation, expansion and maintenance.  Phenotypic and functional characterization of T cell lines;
  • Flow cytometry using MACSQuant, Attune, Fortessa and FACSAria instruments and FloJo software;
  • ELISpot and Luminex assay set up and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in innate immunity and complement research.
