Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive project vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel;
  • Deliver and collect mail, documents and other items, meet official personnel at the airport, railway station and make errands for the project as required;
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.;
  • Perform minor repairs and arranges for another repair;
  • Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean; log official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing; and report to PM on a monthly basis;
  • Ensure that all necessary action is taken in timely manner in case of involvement in accidents and traffic rules violations in accordance with UNDP rules and regulations and full respect of local laws;
  • In the beginning of each month (first week) the Driver will be asked for providing a brief report about the technical condition of the vehicle and planned expenses for the month to ensure timely and quality maintenance of the vehicle.
  • Upon request of the supervisor, the Driver can be also required to provide driving services to programme staff in the CO, Consultants and Experts and UN staff on mission.

Required Skills and Experience

Education
  • Secondary education, valid driving license category B.
Experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a driver.
  • Knowledge of Fergana valley orientation;
  • Ability to drive in rural, mountainous areas and in bad weather condition;
  • Safe driving record;
  • Professional driving license (B and C) is desirable;
  • Working experience with governmental agencies and work in an international organization is an advantage.
Language Requirements
  • Working knowledge in Russian and Uzbek. Basic knowledge of English

    • meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, visa and customs formalities arrangement when required.
  • Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
  • Ensures proper day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
  • Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts.
  • Ensures that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents.

Required Skills and Experience

Education
  • Completion of Secondary Education and 3rd Grade Driving License.
Experience
  • 4 years’ work experience as a driver; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.
Language Requirements
  • Fluency in the language of the duty station, knowledge of UN language of the duty station.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Administrative Officer and overall guidance of the Director of Administration and Finance, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Performs driving and transportation services (people, documents and cargo) in support of the SMM Mission;
  • Acts as driver (integral part of a patrol group) during administrative and operational patrols;
  • Acts as driver in vicinity/through contact line and in convoy;
  • Conducts regular vehicle checks, performs minor vehicle repair and informs the Administrative Officer and/or Transport Assistant of any needed maintenance;
  • Maintains day to day cleanliness and good working condition (fuel/refuelling, car fluids, oil, tires, springs, batteries and other consumables materials) of vehicles;
  • Maintains log of vehicle usage and ensures that the steps required by the rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident;
  • Performs other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications

  • Ukrainian citizenship or holding permanent resident status in Ukraine;
  • Secondary education or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience;
  • Valid driving license B, C, C1E category;
  • Desirable driving license CE;
  • Skills in minor vehicle repair;
  • Established awareness of security issues;
  • Working knowledge of English, both oral and written;
  • Professional fluency in Ukrainian and Russian languages, both oral and written;

Main Duties

Maintenance of assigned vehicle is ensured
  • Ensures vehicle is kept in good running condition at all times through addressing minor repairs, making arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check tires, brakes, water levels, and car washing.
Documentation of vehicle related information is maintained

Requirements

  • A secondary education is required, along with a valid professional driver’s license and excellent knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
  • A minimum of two years of work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, UN system or similar, with a safe driving record is required.
  • Fluency of the local language of the duty station as well as proficiency in English is required.

Functional Responsibilities

En esta convocatoria se consideraran candidatos/as internacionales o locales (México o el país donde el proyecto se ubique y/o resida el consultor).  Las condiciones contractuales estarán acorde al perfil de cada candidato/a (local o internacional).

El/la Asesor/a en Sistemas de Transporte será responsable de la ejecución de las actividades que se detallan a continuación.

  • Desde su especialidad, asesorar y acompañar los procesos de planificación de proyectos de UNOPS y sus asociados.
  • Brindar asesoría técnica sobre el diseño e implementación de proyectos de transporte.
  • Acompañar y evaluar aspectos técnicos y financieros en proyectos de asociaciones público privadas en el área de transporte.
  • Desde su especialidad, evaluar y asesorar las diferentes etapas de los procesos de adquisición en proyectos de transporte ejecutados por UNOPS y sus asociados.
  • Revisión y asesoría de documentos técnicos.
  • Brindar asesoría para la ejecución de soluciones técnicas cuando se requieran.
  • Asesorar y participar de reuniones e instancias técnicas de UNOPS y sus asociados.
  • Elaborar informes de asesoría (en conjunto con otros miembros del equipo de UNOPS, cuando sea necesario)

El/la Asesor/a brindara servicios principalmente a los proyectos en México y en otros países de la región de América Latina y el Caribe según se amplíe el portafolio de proyectos en transporte público.

Se estima que el/la Asesor/a viajara mas de ⅓ del tiempo de servicio.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Educación
  • Se requiere título a nivel de maestría de preferencia en ingeniería de transportes, de vías, mecánica, electrónica, industrial, desarrollo urbano, economía urbana, transporte público, movilidad, áreas de la economía u otras relevantes a las funciones antes indicadas.
  • En lugar de Maestría se aceptará título universitario a nivel de pregrado (equivalente a Bachelor´s degree) y dos años de experiencia adicionales en las áreas mencionadas.
Experiencia laboral
  • Se requiere un mínimo de 7 años (o más dependiendo de los títulos académicos) de experiencia profesional relevante y progresiva, en proyectos de transporte público (por ejemplo ferroviario, metro, teleférico, carreteras, etc.).
  • Deseable experiencia en:
  • Proyectos con contrapartes del sector público (ej. Gobiernos, Ministerios, entidades públicas nacionales, etc.).
  • Estudios costo beneficio para transporte.
Idiomas
  • Se requiere dominio del idioma español
  • Deseable manejo a nivel intermedio o mayor del idioma inglés
