Global Careers for Women

Past event: 02.03.17

There is a general acceptance that the pace of change has been too slow and that the recycling of female staff around the sector, and recruiting more female staff at junior levels won’t alone ensure the progress towards parity. Women will need to enter the profession at all levels, and leaders from member states and institutions are urging organisations to accelerate their efforts to adequately reflect the diverse communities and geographies they serve.

To assist organisations in accelerating diversity recruiting, we launched the first Global Careers FOR WOMEN campaign to put your organisation’s diversity agenda and opportunities in front of professional women in one place. In March 2017, nine International Organisations joined the campaign (ECB, EIB, EUROPOL, IAEA, UNICEF, UNOPS, UN PEACEKEEPING, UNRWA & UN WOMEN) to facilitate conversations and ultimately deliver more applications from women. We blended together a suite of tools over a month-long period to enable organisations to extend their employer brand and diversity credentials to the women worldwide.

  • 2335 – Total number of signups to the event
  • 901 – Total number of candidates who attended the event
  • 75% of candidates had a Master’s Degree, & 11% held a Ph.D.
  • 756 conversations took place at the event
  •  73% of candidates had 7+ years experience

Coinciding with International Women’s Day and CSW61 in March, the first Global Careers for Women campaign brought leading employers together for a series of online employer branding and outreach events.
