Global Careers in Teaching

Past event: 25 November 2017

On Saturday 25 November, the Global Careers in Teaching campaign focused on candidates who had experience in teaching English, and who were interested in pursuing a teaching career overseas. The majority of candidates who attended this event had previous work experience in teaching English, and came from a primarily English speaking country, including Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, UK and the USA.

The key skills required for this event:

  • Candidates were fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Candidates held a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Candidates had a minimum of 1 year experience in teaching (ideally 2 years)
  • Candidates had an accredited (100 hours +) TEFL/TESOL certificate (CELTA, DELTA, PGCE, QTS)*

Attendees had the ability to explore employer information and opportunities from Bright Scholar, the largest operator of international and bilingual K-12 schools in China*. Candidates and recruiters engaged in one-on-one text-based conversations directly with a recruiter at Bright Scholar, who were able to view candidates’ background, experience, and résumé.
