The ICRC is regularly faced with challenges related to weapon contamination. Such contamination can be of conventional or non-conventional weapons, and includes weaponized or incidental leaks of industrial chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) hazards.

The Humanitarian Policy and Global Engagement (HPGE) Division assists the DCHA front office, the OFDA Director and OFDA Deputy Director with tracking trends and policy developments in the humanitarian assistance field. I

ICRC delegates to the police and security forces work as part of one or several delegations depending on the number of countries they are tasked to cover. They are responsible for contributing to the dialogue between the ICRC Delegations and arms carriers (AC), notably, but not exclusively, Police and Security Forces, with a dual aim: to enhance understanding of the ICRC's role and its operational procedures among these forces; and support national efforts for the dissemination and integration of human rights law and humanitarian principles.

The incumbent maintains contact with other UN agencies, NGOs, implementing partners, government partners in the area to facilitate the operation.

UNOPS works with multiple partners including the Governments of Somalia, bilateral and multilateral donors, and United Nations Agencies, Funds and Programmes. UNOPS is particularly interested in strengthening its coordination and liaison capacity with relevant Government institutions, Government led mechanisms and emerging trust fund instruments.
