The Middle East Regional Office was created in January 2014 as part of NRC’s reorganization process.  We currently have more than 2,000 staff in the Middle East assisting people displaced by conflict in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan and Palestine, working in the shelter, education, food security, legal assistance and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors with strong protection and resilience focus integrated into our programs. As an integral part of the overall mandate of NRC we rely heavily on strong and supportive administrative teams to ensure our programmes run smoothly, on time and on budget. Essential to this function are our core competency experts, who work to set technical strategy, develop proposals and successfully implement NRC programs.


Our Ideal Candidate: 


Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience working in an Education

Project Management/Specialist position in a humanitarian/recovery context.

They have proven expertise in Project Cycle Management and new business development. Strong communication skills and an inclusive, collaborative work style are essential. As are advanced English skills (both written and oral).


The Education expert’s role is to strengthen the Education Programming in NRC, working with country teams and other core competency specialists to provide technical support and capacity building for project staff and NRC local partners.


Job Tasks and Responsibilities include:

  • Develop Education program strategy, technical SOPs / guidelines and macro – logframes in line with NRC Programme Policy and national and international standards, and in coordination with other Core Competences.
  • Ensure harmonisation and consistency across education projects.

Responsible for developing and revising funding proposals, budgets and donor reports in accordance with the Education program strategies and priorities.

  • Provide technical advice, direction and project implementation support to NRC staff.
  • Monitoring, evaluation, review and quality control of ongoing and completed Education projects.


Contract Period: Short term/12 month and 24 month assignments Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s salary scale
