Consultant for socio-economic diagnosis of artisanal fishermen in Salto Grande area
Project URU / 17/001 “Strengthening the technical and operational capacities of the National Directorate of Aquatic Resources” aims to contribute to the strengthening of the National Directorate of Aquatic Resources (DINARA), of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries ( MGAP), in terms of its leadership and planning of fisheries policies and the ecosystem management of aquatic environments. For this, it is necessary to expand the technical and management capacities to give sustainability to fishing and aquaculture activities in Uruguay, within the framework of compliance with the law.
To give greater sustainability to the fishing activities in Uruguay, the project will support the DINARA in the formulation and execution of research programs in the area of aquatic resources, tending to generate and adapt technologies adapted to the needs of the country and to the socioeconomic conditions around production and marketing. Likewise, the development of the national scientific and technological heritage in the area will be promoted, through research and studies carried out by DINARA itself and an efficient coordination with research programs carried out at public or private level.
This initiative is part of the priorities of the “Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Uruguayan Fishing System”, developed in 2009 in a participatory manner with different stakeholders of the sector, according to the objectives of Rio + 20. The project will be implemented by DINARA / MGAP, which will act as an Implementing Partner. The Implementing Partner will be the main responsible for the planning and general management of Project activities. The project will have a Steering Committee composed of a representative of DINARA / MGAP, the Uruguayan Agency for International Cooperation (AUCI) and UNDP. Its decisions will be made by consensus among its members. It will serve as a political decision-making body, review the progress of the project, approve work plans and key project documents.
Required Skills and Experience
During the term of the contract, the person hired may not be a public official or maintain contractual links with State agencies except for teaching. The person to be hired must be a Uruguayan citizen (natural or legal), or resident foreigner with established domicile and willingness to remain in the territory of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay during the entire time the tasks involved in the contract they require it.
The person must be enrolled in BPS and DGI before the contract start date, and must provide BPS company registration number, RUT number, BPS Unique Certificate and current DGI and proof of Professional Fund up to date (if applicable). corresponds).
The consultant must have a valid health card at the time of contracting.
